When you are looking to purchase a manufactured home, you may wonder how long it will take to build it from the ground up. Palm Harbor Homes always strives to provide our customers with their custom made manufactured homes as quickly as possible. Generally speaking, a manufactured home can be built in as little as a few weeks or can take a few months depending on the complexity of your home. Here is an overview of the manufactured home process and what you can expect.
Site Selection
The first step is for you to choose a site to build your home. Palm Harbor can assist you in locating the perfect site with our numerous local connections. You may already have a site in mind, which is great, too. Our professionals will just need to ensure your home can safely be installed on the property. If you own your own land, be sure to ask about lenders who will accept your land as your down payment.
Site Inspection
This allows us to see if the site you have selected is acceptable for us to build your home on. We discuss with you your overall plan for the property, any amenities you have chosen with your manufactured home, and allow us to plan for any potential weather hazards.
Testing and Transport
We start with the initial construction of your home and then we move your home to a separate testing area. This allows us to test your utility function and our quality inspectors can ensure everything is working properly. Once we complete the final check, we transport your home to your site.
Home Installation
Once your home has arrived, we secure it to your foundation and our professionals ensure it meets all codes and regulations. We thoroughly prepare your home for your arrival. Your home will go through one final inspection and then you are welcome to move into your new home.
