The United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® programs and products help preserve the environment. They also save American families millions of dollars each year through better construction and design.
Our ENERGY STAR Experience
Palm Harbor is proud to be an EPA home building partner in the ENERGY STAR program. Since 1997, we have partnered with ENERGY STAR in our shared focus on building energy efficient manufactured homes.
Just one year after entering the program, Palm Harbor received the ENERGY STAR Manufactured Home Builder of the Year award*, making us the first manufactured home builder to receive this designation. This special commendation is awarded for achieving outstanding energy efficiency in home building.
Then in 2005, the EPA recognized Palm Harbor again. This time, we earned an Outstanding Achievement Award for building more than 300 ENERGY STAR qualified homes in one year.
Since then we have received Gold EnergyValue Housing Award from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for our commitment to energy efficient construction. The EPA named Palm Harbor Homes as a 2007 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year, for our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by building energy efficient homes and reducing energy costs for our homeowners.
Money Saving Benefits
As part of our ongoing commitment to building energy efficient manufactured homes, Palm Harbor now offers ENERGY STAR Certification on every manufactured home. Adding the prestigious ENERGY STAR package on your home and having it certified with the ENERGY STAR certificate will save you money month after month over the life of your home.

The components of the ENERGY STAR system are designed to reduce use of expensive energy resources to heat and cool homes. This is achieved with things like upgraded insulation in the ceiling, floors and walls helps to maintain the homes’ interior temperature. Maintaining a consistent temperature in a home reduces the wear and tear on heating and cooling systems, as well as reducing the costs to run them. Low-E windows are another way to protect the interior temperature of your home. Using a programmable thermostat allows home owners to set their heating and cooling systems to only run when they need them. So they don’t pay for conditioned air while they are out.
The resulting energy savings for our homeowners with the ENERGY STAR package is another way Palm Harbor gives you more home for your money. When you are ready to purchase a new home to put on land or in a community, look through our floor plans or or find a model center near you for more information!
